
Shangaan Press is an African publishing firm dedicated to telling untold stories from multi-cultural contexts.
Part of the Shangaan Press brand purpose is inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 4 (SDG4): Quality Education. Shangaan Press plays its role in the community by working to ensure "inclusive and equitable quality education" and promoting "lifelong learning opportunities for all” through its Book Drive initiative.
The Book Drive
The Book Drive aimed to improve literacy and the quality of education for children living in remote communities in Zimbabwe by collecting, reconditioning, cataloging and distributing books from donors. These books are then donated to the school libraries and in one instance, created the library.

The Challenge
Get people in Harare, Zimbabwe to donate old books towards the Book Drive.


The Solution?
A social media campaign (with zero ad-spend) that used social-proofing within various social networks in Harare to help build awareness of the Book Drive initiative.
